Netflix has announced that Legendary Television’s animated series “Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft” is set to premiere on the service on October 10th.
Marvel and “Mission: Impossible” alum Hayley Atwell voices the iconic role of British adventurer Lara Croft in the series based on the famed video game franchise.
The series is reportedly set within the continuity of the games, specifically after the most recent trilogy that ended with “Shadow of the Tomb Raider”.
In the series, Lara has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection.
Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.
Allen Maldonado and Earl Baylon also star, the latter reprising his role as Jonah from the games. The series is written and executive produced by Tasha Huo (“The Witcher: Blood Origin”).
Dmitri M. Johnson, Timothy I. Stevenson, Jacob Robinson, Dallas Dickinson, Noah Hughes, Howard Bliss and Jen Chambers also executive produce.
