Nazanin Boniadi, who played series regular Bronwyn in the first season of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” won’t return for the show’s second season.
In the first season Bronwyn is a human healer who was the mother of Theo (Tyroe Muhafidin) and had a forbidden romance with the elf warrior Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova).
The second season’s teaser trailer racked up 13 million views in the last two weeks but fans noticed her absence, leading to questions about her involvement.
THR has subsequently confirmed she’s not in the upcoming episodes and recently wrapped filming an indie movie title “A Mosquito in the Ear”.
Boniadi previously posted on Instagram that she has taken a step back from acting to focus on activism. Cordova and Muhafidin are confirmed to be back for the new episodes.
The season will return fans to Tolkien’s Second Age and will show the ascending evil of Sauron as he continues his quest to build power.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will return on August 29th.
