The Mandalorian, The Boys, Breaking Bad, The Gentleman. Giancarlo Esposito is television’s most excellent bag guy of the moment. It’s been known he was en route to the MCU at some point. He had confirmed it himself and said his role was one that nobody would predict.

Well, one thing has become clearer. According to reports, it is now known where he will enter the MCU.

The rumors are that Captain America: Brave New World was undergoing even more reshoots and re-writing as Marvel attempts to course-correct Phase 5 after the much-discussed problems with Phase 4.

According to a report from Murphy’s Multiverse (via Dark Horizons) this has given an opportunity for Esposito’s MCU debut to be brought forward into that movie.

That film was shot in early 2023 and was originally planned to be released this month. Instead, when the strikes hit, Marvel Studios decided it needed more work and some chnages, so they pulled in Matthew Orton, consulting producer on Moon Knight, to create some new scenes for reshoots.

According to the reports, this is where Esposito’s character will come in. The reports refer to his character as an “antagonistic agent of chaos” and “a serious thorn in Sam Wilson’s side.” Those reshoots are now underway in Atlanta ahead of a February 2025 debut for the movie.

Meanwhile, Deadpool and Wolverine continue their seemingly self-selected mission to take the absolute piss out of everything and everyone, by revealing the design of their tie-in souvenir popcorn bucket.

Inspired by the recent comical reaction to the Dune Part Two bucket, this one is… well… see for yourself in the video recently released by Ryan Reynolds himself on YouTube:
