Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that its upcoming “Silent Hill 2” remake has finally locked down a date – it will be coming to stores and the PS5 on October 8th.
The date was confirmed in a new trailer shown during Sony‘s State of Play presentation today and can be seen below. It marks the third trailer for the game following the early teaser which scored plenty of excitement.
The second was an action-oriented gameplay trailer three months ago which met with enough wide derision the developers Bloober Team effectively disowned it, the company president saying it “does not reflect the spirit of the game” and pointing the blame at publisher Konami.
Further information is expected in a “Silent Hill 2” Transmission showcase prior to release.
Sony has also premiered a gameplay trailer for its upcoming “Until Dawn” remake coming to both PS5 and PC which they confirmed for this Fall – but didn’t offer a more specific date, just that locked in release window.
The early PS4 title gets a fully upgraded look with improved facial animation in particular for its original actors like Hayden Panettiere and Rami Malek.
In the game eight friends return to the isolated lodge where two of their group vanished a year prior, fear tightens its icy grip, and their mountain retreat descends into a nightmare with no escape.
The branching narrative game inspired subsequent titles in the genre like “The Dark Pictures” anthology franchise and “The Quarry”.
