A new report on Pixar’s current state indicates that the once venerated and massively successful animation house is trying to regain some of its mojo.
Bloomberg reports that the company is considering rebooting several of its most famous works in the hopes of drawing in fans – namely “The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo”.
The piece indicates the company is “very confident” in “Inside Out 2”. How much of a success that is will have an impact on where the studio goes next. Pixar President Jim Morris says:
“With a sequel, if you put something out there that doesn’t have the goods, then you will be punished for it. Having had the doldrums we did, it will certainly be a good test with ‘Inside Out 2’ for us to see: Does this stuff still work, or does it not?”
The film’s trailer had the biggest animated trailer launch in Disney’s history with a staggering 157 million views rolled in during the first 24 hours of being posted. That bodes very well.
Last year it was revealed Pixar was also working on a tie-in TV series. That’s now revealed to be titled “Dream Productions,” but no word on when that might hit.
“Inside Out 2” is slated to debut next month.
