The new He-Man has been cast and they’ve landed someone in high demand.
Nicholas Galitzine has scored the role in the upcoming live-action “Masters of the Universe” film which has Travis Knight set to direct.
The film centers on Price Adam of Eternia who, thanks to his Power Sword, turns into He-Man and is embued with superhuman strength and abilities, which he uses to defend his native planet and Castle Grayskull.
The property is best known for the iconic 1983 animated series which was previously adapted to the big screen in the mid-1980s.
The new take on He-Man has long been in development and moved across various studios and streamers with numerous actors attached including Noah Centineo for several years when it was setup at Netflix.
Knight will direct from a screenplay by Chris Butler while Robbie Brenner, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are producing.
“Masters of the Universe” will score a worldwide theatrical release on June 5th 2026.
It will mark Galitzine’s fourth film for Amazon following his co-starring role with Anne Hathaway in recent major success “The Idea of You,” last year’s hit gay rom-com “Red, White & Royal Blue,” and the Camila Cabello-led musical “Cinderella”.
Galitzine has also been seen in acclaimed indie comedy “Bottoms” and alongside Julianne Moore in Showtime series “Mary & George”.
