ShowBiz Direct has premiered the first trailer for the upcoming biopic “Reagan” starring Dennis Quaid as former U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
The film is told through the voice of Viktor Petrovich, a former KGB agent whose life becomes inextricably linked with Reagan’s when he first caught the Soviet’s attention as an actor in Hollywood.
The synopsis says the story “transcends the boundaries of a traditional biopic, offering a profound exploration of the enduring impact of the power of one man who overcame the odds.”
Reagan rose from small-town roots to become an actor and then the 40th president of the United States and to this day an icon of the American conservative Republican party and its followers.
Alongside Quad are Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, Mena Suvari as Jane Wyman, Lesley-Anne Down as Margaret Thatcher, David Henrie as teenage Reagan, Kevin Dillon as Jack Warner, and Jon Voight as Viktor Petrovich.
Sean McNamara (“Soul Surfer”) directed the film which will be released in theaters on August 30th.
