Filming on James Gunn’s new “Superman” film kicked off the first week of March and now the filmmaker himself has given an update on how it’s going.
In a recent post on Instagram, Gunn was asked by a fan if we can expect a trailer for the highly anticipated film this Summer. He responded saying the project is just “a little over halfway” through filming so don’t expect a trailer anytime soon.
Reports previously suggested filming would go through until August, but this seems to be going a bit faster than that. The shoot is on track to run about six months.
That’s not the only superhero project receiving an update today. Scooper DanielRPK reports that the upcoming fifth “Avengers” film is targeting a start of principal photography in the United Kingdom in January.
The report adds the new entry will offer a “more grounded” story, even with its Multiverse elements, and CBR adds that it will focus on a smaller version of the famed supergroup than expected with some new characters to feature (they add The Fantastic Four won’t be involved).
What will happen with the Kang the Conqueror character isn’t clear beyond Marvel rumored to be exploring several possible replacements for the ousted Jonathan Majors.
John David Washington and Colman Domingo have been among the names mentioned as potential replacements.
