By Veteran actress CCH Pounder, WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, musician Busta Rhymes and “Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts” actress Liza Koshy have all joined the cast of “The Naked Gun” reboot at Paramount Pictures.
Liam Neeson stars in the film as Detective Frank Drebin, with Paul Walter Hauser as his partner Ed.
Kevin Durand is set to play the villain while Pamela Anderson and Danny Huston also have major roles.
No details on the roles of the newcomers beyond Rhodes’ appearance expected to only be a cameo.
“Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers” writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand are reuniting with that film’s director Akiva Schaffer on the project.
The new film is based on the trio of late 1980s/early 1990s Leslie Nielsen-led comedy films which made over $476 million at the box office. Those films were themselves a reimagining of the short-lived series “Police Squad”.
Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing the new film which has set a July 18th 2025 cinema release.
