By 7’2 body builder and actor Olivier Richters has landed a key role in the upcoming third season of Amazon Prime’s “Reacher” series according to Cinema Blend.
Nicknamed ‘The Dutch Giant,’ Richters will play the memorable character of Paulie – a deranged bodybuilder who serves as a bodyguard for main antagonist Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) in the new run.
The third season is based on Lee Child’s book “Persuader” and sees Reacher (Alan Ritchson) going undercover in the Maine lakeside castle lair of drug trafficker Beck after inadvertently witnessing an attempted kidnapping and becoming caught up in a complex operation with the DEA.
Beck relies on bodyguards to keep his family safe, among which is Paulie who in the book is described as “six inches taller and ten inches wider” than Reacher.
Hall was the one who revealed the casting to the outlet, confirming Reacher and Paulie first meet just like in the book and a brawl between the giant men will happen.
Richters has had several screen roles including Marvel’s “Black Widow,” “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” “The King’s Man,” “The Electrical Life of Louis Wain,” “Miami Heat” and “Gangs of London”.
He joins a cast that also includes Brian Tee, Sonya Cassiday, Johnny Berchtold, Roberto Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart and returnee Maria Sten as Frances Neagley.
The show’s second season launched in December and was the number one title on Prime Video worldwide across both series and movies in 2023.
