Blake Lively is the next Hollywood superstar on the romance train, in the 1st trailer for Sony Pictures’ It Ends With Us.
Based on the award-winning romance novel of the same name, It Ends With Us follows flower shop owner Lily (Lively) as she gets swept off her feet by attractive neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni). But Lily’s fairytale life is slowly upended when Ryle’s violent side slowly emerges.

As Ryle’s toxicity devolves into physical abuse, Lily has flashbacks to the traumatic upbringing she tried to escape as a child. And the sudden reappearance of her childhood sweetheart Atlas (Brandon Sklenar) complicates things even further.
Soon, Lily is forced to choose between her past and present loves, a choice that could change her future permanently.
Old school romance star-vehicles, be they wholesome or twisted, are having something of a moment in 2024. Films like The Idea Of You and Love Lies Bleeding have dominated watercooler conversations this year, proving that a classic love story can still make waves at the box office.
It Ends With Us’ schmaltzy and overdramatic trailer doesn’t offer much to stand out from the crowd, but Lively’s committed performance could be just barely enough to capture America’s heart.
It Ends With Us is set to premiere theatrically in the US on August 9th, 2024. The film stars Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, and Brandon Sklenar.
