Last week came the news that this year’s “Call of Duty” game will be the first title in the series to be included in Xbox’s GamePass subscription service at launch.
It mean for players with access to Xbox platforms, the entry cost for the game could be as little as $11.
However, a new report on ResetEra suggests the addition of the new “Call of Duty” to Game Pass will come alongside Microsoft using the opportunity to refresh its service.
The insider wouldn’t specifically confirm a price increase or a tier restructure, only that “there will be changes, yes.” Even so, this has quickly led to speculation of new fees or different tiers.
The inclusion on the GamePass service was a major point of contention in the court battles following the merger of Xbox and Activision–Blizzard.
The new “Call of Duty” title, which has yet to be officially announced, is expected to be revealed on June 9th as part of a special ‘digital presentation’ following the Xbox Games Showcase.
Activision is expected to release the game in late October.
