Tickets for Deadpool & Wolverine are now on sale and promotional efforts are kicking into high gear. To announce the release of tickets, lead actor Ryan Reynolds appeared in a lengthy interview with Hugh Jackman to discuss the movie.

One of the topics of conversation for the Fandango interview is how this is the first R-rated movie in the MCU, and what this could mean for the world of Marvel going forward.

“I was surprised though, that they let us go as hard R, but very grateful. I mean there’s no other way to do it. Deadpool and Wolverine” is notable for being the first R-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe movie at Disney and with it comes freedom: “[The R rating] really [allowed] us to do anything and everything in a world where anything and everything is possible”.

He says that letting them cut loose with an R-rating was a “huge step for them”.

The release should be epically hilarious, as thousands of parents take their kids to see that nice superhero movie from Marvel only to have their little darling’s eyeballs assaulted by dismemberment, a river of F-bombs, and pegging jokes.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay he wrote with Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.

Alongside Reynolds and Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen co-star. In the film, the Time Variance Authority pulls Deadpool from his quiet life and sets him on a mission with Wolverine that will change the history of the MCU.
