Lionsgate has officially set release dates for three action films in the coming months. First up is the Dave Bautista-led “The Killer’s Game” which hails from director J.J. Perry and will open on September 13th.
Rand Ravich and James Coyne adapt the book by Jay R. Bonansinga with Bautista starring as hitman Joe Flood. Diagnosed with a terminal illness, he opts to take matters into his own hands by taking a hit out on himself.
But when his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella) is also targeted, he must fend off an army of assassin colleagues and win her back before it’s too late. Terry Crews, Scott Adkins, Pom Klementieff, and Ben Kingsley co-star.
The second film is “Flight Risk,” which stars Mark Wahlberg and is directed by Mel Gibson. Set for release October 13th, Wahlberg plays a pilot transporting an Air Marshal (Michelle Dockery) and fugitive (Topher Grace) to trial. Over the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar as not everyone on board is who they seem.
The third film is “Den of Thieves: Pantera,” the sequel to 2018 heist feature “Den of Thieves,” which will open January 10th 2025. In the new film Big Nick (Gerard Butler) is back on the hunt in Europe and closing in on Donnie (O’Shea Jackson Jr.).
The latter has become embroiled in the world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia as they plot a massive heist of the world’s largest diamond exchange.
