Arkane Austin will reportedly release one final update for its vampire co-op video game “Redfall” which will add offline play. A release date for this final update has yet to be confirmed.
This ‘Game Update 4’, announced on their social media channels, will incorporate “revamped Neighborhood and Nest systems, Single Player Pausing, Offline Mode, and more.”
The news comes one year after the game launched to scathing reviews and dismal numbers, forcing Microsoft chief Phil Spencer to do something of an ‘apology tour’ for the game.
Microsoft has subsequently gone through a number of struggles and in the year since has seen its hardware sales slipping. Just a few weeks back Microsoft announced the closure of several studios, including Arkane Austin.
There were concerns this update wouldn’t come because of that news, but now it seems it’s going ahead.
It marks an about face from six months ago when Bethesda‘s head of publishing Pete Hines said the company was “going to keep working on it” in regards to the game.
