By Ahead of the show’s debut in a few weeks, a new 30-second TV spot is out for the upcoming Disney+ “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte”.
Though starting with the fight between Mae (Amandala Stenberg) and Jedi Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss), the clip soon adds in various bits of new footage including two key shots.
One shot sees the introduction of a lightsaber that becomes a whip, whilst another features a Jedi Wookie character in action complete with his own lightsaber and using Force powers.
Set around fifty years before the events of “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” and towards the end of the High Republic era, the live-action series follows a former Jedi Padawan and her one-time Master.
An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.
Joonas Suotamo, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Dean-Charles Chapman, Margarita Levieva, Charlie Barnett and Rebecca Henderson also star.
The series hails from creator Leslye Headland and will premiere its eight episodes exclusively on the Disney+ service starting June 4th.
