The previously announced Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Fox combined sports streaming service has settled on a name – Venu Sports (pronounced like ‘venue’).
A website has gone live and promises the service will
bring the most sought-after live sports from the top leagues and teams, together in one place. All in a new app built from the ground up for sports fans.”
A launch date and pricing information have yet to be announced though a Fall 2024 window is being targeted.
Subscribers will get access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, Fox, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV and ESPN+. The service allows for live NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB games, along with MMA fights and NASCAR races amongst others.
Venu Sports CEO Pete Distad said in a statement says: “We are excited to officially introduce Venu Sports, a brand that we feel captures the spirit of an all-new streaming home where sports fans outside of the traditional pay TV ecosystem can experience an incredible collection of live sports, all in one place.”
Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Fox will reportedly each own one-third of the new venture.
