The end of episode 4 contains the moment that fans who have read the novels remember the most: the carriage ride where Colin and Penelope make out and admit their romantic feelings.

A lot of the appeal of Penelope and Colin’s relationship is because of the friends-to-lovers romance trope. It’s one of the most realistic scenarios for couples in real life to meet and a great source of romantic tension.
Penelope and Colin’s fans were also just as eager to see their relationship develop before the carriage ride cliffhanger.
