It was already known but now Amazon is making it official – their superhero dark satire series “The Boys” has been renewed for a fifth season.
Making the announcement as part of its upfront presentation today, the news comes just weeks ahead of the show’s fourth season launching with three episodes on Prime Video on June 13th. The remaining five episodes will air weekly through July 18th.
In the new season, Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the thumb of Homelander who is consolidating his power.
Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.
The renewal news is hardly surprising as film production crew listings in Canada have indicated production on the fifth season has been gearing up for a while with shooting taking place this Summer.
The show’s cast includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Jensen Ackles.
