Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor Andrew Garfield is in negotiations to star with Julia Roberts in “Challengers” and “Call Me By Your Name” director Luca Guadagnino’s next film “After the Hunt” at Amazon MGM Studios says Deadline.
The dramatic thriller follows a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues. A dark secret from her own past soon threatens to come to light.
Guadagnino is directing the film from a script penned by Nora Garrett. Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum are producing alongside Guadagnino.
Garfield is currently working with Claire Foy on the Enid Blyton adaptation “The Magic Faraway Tree”. It’s expected he’ll jump over to this immediately after with ‘Hunt’ set to shoot this Summer.
Also today, Zac Efron is reportedly in talks to star in Ti West’s “Night Business” based on the cult classic graphic novel reports DanielRPK. Nathaniel Halpern is adapting the script.
Dubbed a 1980s-trash-culture homage, the project is set at a time when an extremely violent knife-wielding killer is on the loose and targeting exotic dancers.
Only one man is determined enough to stop this psychopath: Johnny Timothy. Can he stop the killer before more innocent victims have to die?
West is coming off “X” trilogy with the closing entry “MaXXXine” set for release in July.
