He was said to be in talks a few months ago, now it’s official – Nicolas Cage will return as Spider-Man Noir for a live-action MGM+ series to release via Prime Video.
The series will follow an older, grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City. Here he’s an aging and down on his luck private investigator during the Great Depression, and the show will be set in its own universe.
Acclaimed ‘Spider-Verse’ producers and “The LEGO Movie” directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and former Sony studio chief Amy Pascal all executive produce.
Steve Lightfoot (“The Punisher,” “Hannibal”) serves as co-showrunner alongside Oren Uziel (“The Lost City”) as writer/co-showrunner.
Cage previously played the character in the “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” film. Milo Ventimiglia also voiced the role for the “Ultimate Spider-Man” series.
The news comes as Cage was also announced to be starring in the western “The Gunslingers” alongside Stephen Dorff, Heather Graham, Costas Mandylor and Tzi Ma.
