This week came the news that “Hannibal” creator Bryan Fuller was exiting the “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake” in the works for the streaming service Peacock.

Reports indicated A24 was retooling the project behind the scenes with the studio “going a different way with the material” according to Fuller.

That would suggest what work on it that has already been done is being gutted and/or outright abandoned, and that likely includes an episode that was written by “Scream” writer Kevin Williamson.

Williamson has now taken to social media to confirm he developed an episode for the series which sadly we won’t see. He did tease, on X, what the plan was though:

“So sorry I won’t be a part of what would have been an epic Bryan Fuller show. Your pilot was so beautifully realized. A gorgeous portait of a mother unraveling in her grief. Not to mention bloody horrific! I was so looking forward to our hour long chase episode!”

Fuller was to serve as writer, showrunner and executive producer, with Victor Miller, Marc Toberoff and Rob Barsamian producing. No word as yet regarding who will take over from this point.
