Three-time Oscar nominee Sigourney Weaver may be joining the “Star Wars” universe.
The “Alien” and “Avatar” actress is reportedly in talks for a key role in the next film “The Mandalorian & Grogu”.
The project is set to be directed by “The Mandalorian” series creator Jon Favreau who is also producing alongside Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and CCO Dave Filoni.
Production on the project is slated to start later this year in advance of an expected release on May 22nd 2026.
It will be the first of several other “Star Wars” films on the way with one dated for December 2026 and another for December 2027.
It’s expected the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy-directed film starring Daisy Ridley, or the James Mangold-directed film about the dawn of the Jedi will be the two.
