Now… this is interesting. Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac have signed up to star in the vampire thriller Flesh of the Gods. There is more, too. It is to be helmed by Mandy director Panos Cosmatos, and written by Se7en scribe Andrew Kevin Walker. An intriguing combination of talent.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will explore a vampire couple living in Los Angeles during the ‘80s. The married pair Raoul (Isaac) and Alex (Stewart) descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric nighttime realm of 80’s LA.

When they cross paths with a mysterious and enigmatic woman and her hard-partying cabal, Raoul and Alex are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills, and violence.

Cosmatos said in a statement:

“Like Los Angeles itself Flesh of the Gods inhabits the liminal realm between fantasy and nightmare. Both propulsive and hypnotic, Flesh will take you on a hot rod joy ride deep into the glittering heart of hell.”

Filming will begin later this year.

In the past, Flesh Of The Gods sometimes referred to the ritual use of hallucinogens in the religious pilgrimages of Oriental and aboriginal New World groups.
