Still some of the most fun television to land in recent years, Cobra Kai is sadly ending, although, to be fair, it feels it is coming at exactly the right time. Now streamer Netflix has revealed its release strategy for the final run of the streaming mega-hit.

The final run will be 15 episodes long, and it will be split into three sections of five episodes each.

Cobra Kai will return with five episodes on July 18th. Then five more on November 28th, and the final five in early 2025. These last five have been dubbed “The Final Event”.

The reboot movie, which features cast from both the Cobra Kai universe and the Jacki Chan-led remake, has been moved back. This is clearly now coordinated to tie the two together and, perhaps, make the finale of Cobra Kai flow more neatly into the movie.

The new season begins after Terry Silver’s arrest, Kreese’s escape, and Cobra Kai is no more. Now attention turns to the invitational tournament revealed at the end of last season where dojos from all over the world will compete.

Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg remain as writers, and continue as executive producers alongside Will Smith, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett, Susan Ekins, Ralph Macchio, and William Zabka.

Macchio, Zabka, Martin Kove, Xolo Mariduena, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, and Gianni DeCenzo are all expected to return. Chozen better be back from the last season, too. He’s hilarious.
