A king will rise and be destined for greatness as Walt Disney Studios releases the official teaser trailer for the upcoming prequel Mufasa: The Lion King. View trailer below.
The prequel about the rise of one of the greatest kings of the Pride Lands, goes back to the African savanna where Rafiki tells Kiara—daughter of Simba and Nala—the story of her grandfather while Timon and Pumbaa add color commentary.
I was wondering when the trailer for this movie. 2019’s The Lion King was sort of a mixed feelings for me as I personally love the classic tale that Disney created with The Lion King narrative (from the 1994 cartoon original), but the representation into photo realistic characters was a bit wonky. In addition, the 2019 reimagining was almost “beat-for-beat” recreation to the source material, which made it too faithful and a little bit bland. This new movie, which is a prequel treatment, is something that no one really clamored for, especially since the reception for 2019’s The Lion King was met with mediocre fanfare. From the footage shown in the trailer, the upcoming film looks decent and a bit intriguing, but nothing really to get excited about. Overall, I’m interested to see what this movie has to offer, but I still have reservations about it.
