Peaky Blinders started on the BBC, and was then sent global in a deal via Netflix. It ran for a total of 36 episodes from 2013-2022. It starred Cillian Murphy and co-starred Sam Neill, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Annabelle Wallis, and Tom Hardy at various stages. Its ensemble cast would, at times, include stars like Adrien Brody and Paddy Considine.

Now the series creator Steven Knight has confirmed that the already-announced movie will start shooting this fall.

In an interview with The NME, Knight said he is doing the final script polishes, and he is going to keep going, making it better, until the last possible moment:

“We’re there. We’ve got everything sorted, we’ve got all the commitments we need, we are ready to go.”

He said the budget would be bigger than the show, and that this would end this chapter of the story. He also confirmed Cillian Murphy will be returning.

The story of Tommy Shelby, a charismatic and cunning crime boss in Birmingham, UK, during the aftermath of World War I, is loosely based on a real urban youth gang of the same name who were active in the city from the 1880s to the 1910s.

The group consisted largely of young criminals from lower- to working-class backgrounds. They engaged in robbery, violence, racketeering, illegal bookmaking, and control of gambling.

Members of the Peaky Blinders wore signature outfits that typically included tailored jackets, lapelled overcoats, buttoned waistcoats, silk scarves, bell-bottom trousers, leather boots, and peaked flat caps.
