Greta Gerwig’s film adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia” is reportedly targeting an August production start date in the UK.
Announced several years ago, the project looks to be finally making it before cameras with What’s on Netflix reporting the new date and saying a seven month shoot is planned.
It’s earlier than previous reports back in March which suggested the film was still in the very early stages of pre-production and likely wouldn’t go before cameras until well into the Fall or over the New Year.
That’s not the only high-profile film to shoot later this year. A new listing at Production Weekly indicates that Michael Mann’s sequel to the 1995 crime thriller “Heat” will start production around October or November this year.
Mann previously indicated in interviews he was in pre-production mode on the project which would ‘definitely’ be his next film. The project serves as both a prequel and sequel to the original, and is an adaptation of Mann’s own published novel in 2022.
Whilst various names have been rumored, none are yet locked even as Adam Driver is expected to take on the Robert De Niro role whilst Austin Butler is being eyed for Val Kilmer’s Chris Shiherlis role.
