The English trailer has been released for Usman Riaz’s “The Glassworker,” the first hand-drawn animated movie out of Pakistan which is scheduled to open there on July 26th.
The English voice cast includes Art Malik, Sacha Dhawan, Anjli Mohindra, Tony Jayawardena, Teresa Gallagher, Maya Soraya, Sham Ali, and Mina Anwar
Set in a location loosely inspired by Pakistan, the story centers on young Vincent whose father runs the country’s finest glass workshop.
They find their lives upended when an impending war, in which they want no part, starts to threaten their country.
The arrival in their town of an army colonel and his young, talented violinist daughter, Alliz, shakes their reality and tests the relationship between father and son.
Mano Animation Studios is behind the project which has yet to receive any international release dates. The film will be screened at both the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Cannes Film Market shortly though.
