Paramount+ has released the full-length trailer for the third season of the Jeremy Renner-led crime drama series “Mayor of Kingstown” ahead of its launch on June 2nd.
It’s a good look at Jeremy Renner’s return to not only his role of Mike McLusky, but his return to work just over a year since sustaining life-threatening injuries from a snowcat accident.
The series follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.
Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
The new season begins when a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls.
The pressure is on Mike to end the war, but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace among all factions.
Produced by Taylor Sheridan (“Yellowstone”), the series also stars Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Hugh Dillon as Ian, Emma Laird as Iris, Aidan Gillen as Milo Sunter, Derek Webster as Stevie, Hamish Allan-Headley as Robert, and Nishi Munshi as Tracy.
