“Westworld” and “Line of Duty” alum Thandiwe Newton is the latest to join the second season of “Wednesday” at Netflix.
Specific character details are being kept under wraps, but she’s the latest to join the show for its sophomore run following Steve Buscemi who will play the Nevermore Academy’s new headmaster.
Newton is coming off the films “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget” and “All the Old Knives” along with voice work in “Big Mouth” and “Human Resources”.
“Wednesday” originally debuted in November 2022 and instantly became a massive hit for Netflix, remaining one of the most-watched shows the streamer and winning four Emmys.
Production on the second season was delayed due to the writers and actors strikes that shutdown much of Hollywood. Filming is expected to finally kick off imminently in Ireland.
Jenna Ortega will return as the titular Addams Family daughter. Also back are co-showrunners and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar along with executive producer Tim Burton.
