New Line Cinema has released the trailer for “The Watchers,” a new thriller from producer M. Night Shyamalan and both written and directed by his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan.
The project marks the younger Shyamalan’s directorial debut following her directing the second units on “Old” and “Knock at the Cabin” along with some TV episodes.
The story is based on the novel by A.M. Shine. It follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland.
When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. You can’t see them, but they see everything.
The film stars Dakota Fanning (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,”), Georgina Campbell (“Barbarian”), Oliver Finnegan (“Outlander”) and Olwen Fouere (“The Northman”). The film is also produced by Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad.
“The Watchers” will be released on June 14th.
