Marvel Studios has premiered the highly anticipated second trailer for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” a preview that finally shows Hugh Jackman back in action as Wolverine.
The film ties back to the Time Variance Authority (TVA) from “Loki,” a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline (the time-eating Alioth creature from the fifth episode of “Loki” can be glimpsed in the clip).
Here they pull Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) from his quiet life and set him on a mission with Wolverine that will change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Matthew Macfadyen, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Rob Delaney, Stefan Kapicic, Karan Soni, Shioli Kutsuna and Jennifer Garner co-star.
The film, the sole theatrical release from Marvel Studios this year, has topped polls of the most anticipated films of 2024 and, unlike last year’s MCU films, is widely expected to avoid any talk of superhero fatigue.
Shawn Levy directs whilst Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells penned the film which will officially be Marvel Studios’ first R-rated movie.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” opens in cinemas July 26th.
