Joe Cole (“Gangs of London,” “Peaky Blinders”) has been set to lead the action-thriller Drew Kirsch’s feature directorial debut “He Bled Neon”.
After his estranged brother’s mysterious death, Ethan (Cole) goes on a journey to Las Vegas for the funeral and unravels a dark web of crime, forcing him to confront his past as he delves into the city’s gritty underworld to uncover the truth.
Grammy nominee Zhu will compose the score in collaboration with Joseph Trapanese (“Straight Outta Compton”). Tim Cairo and Jake Gibson (“Lowlife”) wrote the script from an original story by Nate Bolotin.
That’s not the only casting today. “Chuck” and “Shazam” star Zachary Levi will headline XYZ Films’ rock climbing thriller “Free Fall” which marks New Zealand stuntwoman and stunt coordinator Zoë Bell’s directorial debut.
Sean Finegan and Gregg Maxwell Parker pen the film which tells the story of a father’s attempt to reconcile with his estranged daughter on a rock-climbing trip that turns deadly as an accident leaves them stranded hundreds of feet in the air.
Filming is set to begin later this year in New Zealand. Tom Hern and Nua Finau of Tavake are producing.
