The BBC and Amazon have reportedly greenlit not one but two more seasons of the John le Carré adaptation “The Night Manager”.
“Loki” actor Tom Hiddleston will reprise his leading role of Jonathan Pine in the series with David Farr, who wrote the original, back for the new run.
The 2016 series, which aired on AMC, starred Hiddleston as a former British soldier turned night manager of a luxury Cairo hotel.
He is recruited by the manager (Olivia Colman) of a Foreign Office taskforce to infiltrate the inner circle of a dangerous arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie).
Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki and David Harewood co-starred in the original. The new season will be set in the present day and sees Pine facing up to a new, even more deadly challenge.
Hugh Laurie will be back to executive produce, though it’s not clear if his character will return as well. Georgi Banks-Davies will direct and filming begins later this year.
