Disney Pictures has premiered the official trailer for the true story tale “Young Woman and the Sea” which hits cinemas on May 31st.
“Star Wars” alum Daisy Ridley stars as Trudy Ederle, the first woman to successfully swim the English Channel at the start of the 20th century.
Through the steadfast support of her older sister and supportive trainers, she overcame adversity and the animosity of a patriarchal society to rise through the ranks of the Olympic swimming team and complete the staggering achievement – a 21-mile trek from France to England.
Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Stephen Graham, Kim Bodnia, Christopher Eccleston, and Glenn Fleshler co-star in the film which is directed by Joachim Rønning (“Kon-Tiki,” “Tron: Ares”) and written by Jeff Nathanson.
Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, and Jeff Nathanson produce whilst John G. Scotti, Daisy Ridley, and Joachim Rønning are executive producers. Check out the trailer below.
