“South Park” co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will team with musician Kendrick Lamar and filmmaker Dave Free on a new live-action comedy feature set at Paramount Pictures.
Stone, Parker, Lamar and Free will all produce the live-action comedy which was written by Vernon Chatman and has already locked in a July 4th 2025 release date. Zero plot specifics are available for the film.
Paramount CEO Brian Robbins announced the project as part of the studio’s CinemaCon presentation and said: “This script is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read and it’s certain to create some fireworks.”
Stone and Parker have had success on the big screen with 1999’s “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut” and 2004’s “Team America: World Police”.
Lamar is a music star who has won the Pulitzer Prize for Music, an Emmy Award and 17 Grammys. Filming on the project will kick off this Summer.
