Beetlejuice is back and the sequel was teased at CinemaCon yesterday in Las Vegas. There was a Warner Brothers panel and they showed an extended clip of the movie and talked about the practical effects.
Keaton is back as the ghost with the most and, according to reports, he doesn’t miss a beat. The extended clip showed more of Keaton as Beetlejuice with the rest of the cast.
Tim Burton, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe took to the stage. The crowd started to chant “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” to draw out the star of the movie. The cast was all in black, but Keaton walked out in a brown jacket and white trousers, or pants as you Americans call them.
The cast took it in turns to talk about the movie. Dafoe was a fan of the original and liked how there was little to no CG in the sequel. Theroux said it felt like an indie movie, with rubber, latex and makeup, everything felt real.
Burton and Bellucci said it fulfilled a lifelong dream of working on an Italian Horror. Keaton went on to say it was the most fun he’s had on a movie and they were glad they pulled it off. A new trailer was shown and everyone seemed to like it.
I have had a look around online, but the only trailer I could see is a fake one from 5 days ago. When it’s officially online, we’ll let you know.
