Black Salt Games and Story Kitchen are teaming for “Dredge,” a live-action adaptation of the smash indie horror fishing game of last year.
In the game, players are employed to fish the waters off a mysterious archipelago where strange things are afoot and afin on land and sea.
As you build your boat up to fish more dangerous waters and explore more deadly places, an underlying cosmic horror mystery unfurls with sinister secrets and lurking leviathans.
The film version is officially described as: “Think ‘The Sixth Sense’ on the water. A grounded atmospheric cosmic horror blend of HP Lovecraft and Ernest Hemingway.”
Black Salt Games’ Nadia Thorne, Joel Mason, Alex Ritchie and Michael Bastiaens say in a statement: “We are excited to partner with such an experienced studio team to bring the world we created to live action and ignite the imagination of audiences across the globe.”
The game has been universally acclaimed and scored many awards nominations since its release a year ago.
