Paramount Pictures has announced a number of release dates today, with several high-profile projects locked in to open in the next two years.
First up, the long-gestating reboot of “The Naked Gun” franchise looks like it will be going into production this year with the studio setting a July 18th 2025 release for the title.
Liam Neeson is expected to play the son of the late Leslie Nielsen’s Frank Drebin in the movie which is currently untitled and will be directed by Akiva Schaffer.
Schaffer, Dan Gregor and Doug Mand – who all previously teamed on the “Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers” film – have co-written the new movie.
The studio has also set 2026 dates for sequels in two of its successful animated franchises. First up, a third “Paw Patrol” movie will be released on July 31st 2026.
That will be followed by a sequel to last year’s highly acclaimed “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” which is targeting an October 9th 2026 release.
Other titles having set dates include the Robbie Williams musical biopic “Better Man” for a limited release on Christmas Day this year followed by a wide release on January 17th 2025.
Also the Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder-led action film “Novocaine” has set a March 14th 2025 release, whilst the Doka Fanning-led horror-thriller “Vicious” has set an August 8th 2025
