Ahmed Best, the actor who played Jar Jar Binks in the “Star Wars” prequels, hints that he’s returning to the role and the franchise for a new project.
In a selfie posting on his Instagram account, Best can be seen doing motion capture work for a project – one which he adds the hashtags #starwars #jarjarbinks #activision #jedi #sithlord #kelleranbeq.
Kelleran Beq was the Jedi Knight that Best was seen daving Grogu from Order 66 in a flashback scene from the third season of “The Mandalorian”. Who the Sith Lord is that he’s referring to is not known.
The inclusion of “Call of Duty” developers Activision as a tag has quickly led to speculation that the filming is for a video game – be it an unannounced project or additional content for other existing games like the ‘Duty’ franchise.
Respawn’s “Jedi Fallen Order” and its sequel “Jedi Survivor” have re-sparked interest in the franchise’s gaming potential, and Activision has some past history with the franchise.
The franchise has already had collaborations with other non-Activision titles in recent times, including the likes of “Minecraft,” “Roblox,” “Brawlhalla” and “Rocket League”.
Meanwhile, the original “Star Wars: Battlefront” games are being released in a new collection later this year with new content and online multiplayer. Ubisoft also has “Star Wars Outlaws” due later this year.
