Paramount+ has renewed its revival of the classic sitcom “Frasier” for a second season.
Five-time Emmy winner Kelsey Grammer returned as the titular psychotherapist Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfil.
Co-stars include Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son, Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor, Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate, Eve; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew, David.
Peri Gilpin and Bebe Neuwirth reprised their roles of Roz and Lilith in guest roles. Reviews for the first season were very mixed, but Grammer had seemed confident late last year that the show would return.
Jeff Grossman, evp of programming at Paramount+ says in a statement: “We’re so excited to see what the creative team and superb cast serve up for season two.”
The new “Frasier” hails from writers Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli. Like the original, the series is filmed in front of a live studio audience and hails from CBS Studios.
