Bandai Namco and From Software have released the trailer for “Shadow of the Erdtree”, the highly anticipated expansion pack to 2022’s Game of the Year winner “Elden Ring”.
The DLC will be released in stores on June 21st and will arrive for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam). Pre-orders will receive the Ring of Miquella in-game bonus gesture.
The expansion will reportedly introduce a new story, a new world and deeper RPG features. There are new weapons, equipment, weapon skills and magic not found in the base game, along with new enemies, boss encounters and plotlines.
Guided by Empyrean Miquella, players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot.
In these strange new lands, players discover the dark secrets of the world as they meet others who follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives.
At the same time of this announcement, From Software boss Hidetaka Miyazaki has revealed that he’s very happy with all the still ongoing talk for a remake of his company’s 2015 PS4-exclusive title “Bloodborne”. He tells Eurogamer:
“It [Bloodborne] is a title we hold very dear and just as much as our fans. It does make me very happy to see that there are still so many people passionate about it.
Put simply, it makes me very happy to see it’s a title with a lot of specific memories, both for me and the staff who worked on it, and when we see those passionate voices in the community, of course it makes us feel thrilled, it makes us feel very fortunate to have that and to have those memories.”
The “Elden Ring” base game will be required to play “Shadow of the Erdtree” with prices for the expansion starting at $39.99.
