“Elvis” star and upcoming “Dune: Part Two” actor Austin Butler has found his name attached to the next films of two high-profile genre directors.
The Insneider reports that several buyers are pursuing a new thriller from “Black Swan” and “Requien for a Dream” director Darren Aronofsky, one with Butler attached to star.
The outlet indicates Sony Pictures might be the frontrunner, and the project is neither his Elon Musk biopic at A24, or his mystery film “Emperor” announced late last year.
Butler is also said to be in talks for a small role in “Hereditary” and “Midsommar” director Ari Aster’s next movie “Eddington”.
The failure of Aster’s “Beau Is Afraid” means A24 is being much more cautious with this project and so isn’t moving forward until it feels comfortable with its cast.
Butler was most recently in the Apple TV+ mini-series “Masters of the Air”. He has Jeff Nichols’ “The Bikeriders” on the way shortly.
