Amazon Prime Video has released a Super Bowl-esque spot for its acclaimed series “The Boys” ahead of the fourth season of the series debuting sometime this year.
The commercial, which is only online, is done as if it were a spot for Vought International – the company at the heart of the superhero antics of the world within “The Boys” and its spin-off “Gen V”.
It’s a commercial all about freedom, football, family, and horses – with Vought trying to co-opt American cultural values and stereotypes to paint itself as American as apple pie – juxtaposing real heroes with its own ‘heroes’ like Homelander (Anthony Starr).
Saying it’s rated “Too Patriotic” for TV, the clip is now online on YouTube and even includes a quick promo for the fake Turbo Rush energy drink.
The fourth season of “The Boys” will see the return of Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Susan Heyward and Claudia Doumit.
Joining them for the new outing are Jeffrey Dean Morgan as an old ally of Butcher, and Rosemarie DeWitt as Hughie’s mother.
