Paramount+ has premiered its Super Bowl commercial for “Knuckles,” the “Sonic the Hedgehog” TV spin-off series which will premiere on the streamer on April 26th.
All six episodes will make their debut the same day and will see Idris Elba reprising his voice role from “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” alongside Adam Pally as Wade Whipple.
The live-action series follows Knuckles on a journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protege and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.
The show’s first trailer launched on Thursday and broke records for the streamer – having the highest trailer debut across all Paramount+ original programming on social platforms in the first 24 hours – including a total of 4.3 million views on YouTube alone.
Special guest stars for the series include Ben Schwartz reprising his role as Sonic, Colleen O’Shaughnessey back as Tails, and Tika Sumpter appearing on screen as Maddie.
Regulars will include Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Cary Elwes, Scott Mescudi, Edi Patterson, Ellie Taylor, Julian Barratt, Rory McCann, Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel.
All of the key creative team from the previous films have returned for the series including director Jeff Fowler who helms the pilot episode.
