By The teaser trailer has been released for the horror feature “Cuckoo” starring “Euphoria” breakout Hunter Schafer along with Dan Stevens, Jessica Henwick, Marton Csoskas and Jan Bluthardt.
The story follows Gretchen, a 17-year-old girl who relocates from her American home to live at a resort in the German Alps with her father.
Along with the new locale she has to readjust to life with a new family. She also meets her father’s boss, Mr. König, who has taken an odd interest in Gretchen’s mute half-sister Alma.
Soon, Gretchen begins to realize that something is off and strange noises and bloody visions lead her to discover a secret involving her family.
The film has been written and directed by German filmmaker Tilman Singer (“Luz”). Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Maria Tsigka, Ken Kao, Thor Bradwell, and Ben Rimmer produce.
“Cuckoo” will have its debut at this year’s SXSW festival on March 14th ahead of the film’s theatrical release on May 8th.
