Out promoting Amazon’s new “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” TV series, actor/producer/musician Donald Glover and his co-star Maya Erskine took a lie detector test as part of an interview with Vanity Fair.
During the interview, Erskine asks Glover if his cameo in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” was to make up for the actor not getting to play the costumed hero.
Erskine was referring to #DonaldForSpiderMan, a fan campaign that began nearly a decade ago to try and get Glover cast as Miles Morales in the MCU (shortly before Tom Holland was cast as Peter Parker).
Glover, who is now forty, laughs at the question before saying:
“I don’t think they even thought about it. There’s definitely going to be like a Miles Morales live-action eventually, and I think they’re probably more concerned with me being Prowler in that or something like that. I’m too old to be Spider-Man now.”
Glover played a live-action The Prowler in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and pre-Prowler incarnation Aaron Davis in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.
“Mr. and Mrs. Smith” is now available on Amazon Prime.
