Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have just released the first trailer for the fourth “Despicable Me” movie opening in cinemas this July.
Gru, the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League-agent, returns for an exciting, bold new era of Minions mayhem.
Gru (Steve Carrell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) and their girls – Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Madison Polan) – welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad.
Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to go on the run.
Also voicing characters are Joey King Stephen Colbert and Chloe Fineman whilst Pierre Coffin returns as the Minions and Steve Coogan is back as Silas Ramsbottom.
This marks the first return to the main “Despicable Me” franchise in seven years and follows in the wake of 2022’s “Minions: The Rise of Gru” which earned almost $1 billion worldwide.
The film is directed by Oscar nominee Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage, and produced by Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman.
The script hails from returning scribe Ken Daurio and Emmy winning “The White Lotus” creator Mike White.
