Matthew McConaughey is reportedly in negotiations to star in “The Lost Bus” at Comet Films and Blumhouse.
Not only that, but “The Bourne Supremacy” and “United 93” director Paul Greengrass is in negotiations to direct and Apple Original Films is in discussions to board the film.
Brad Ingelsby adapted the script from Lizzie Johnson’s 2018 book “Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire”. The film will unfold from the perspective of heroic bus driver Kevin McKay and school teacher Mary Ludwig.
The pair helped navigate a bus full of children through the deadly wildfire as the town of Paradise is caught in the destruction and chaos.
The fire, the deadliest fire in California history, destroyed most of the town and killed 85 people. Ingelsby, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Blum and Greg Goodman would produce.
Greengrass is also attached to “Drowning” at Warner Bros. Pictures but script work is still being done so he’s expected to shoot this first and then do “Drowning”.
